Tararua Ranges,
Wellington Regional Council

 

The Tararua Range runs northeast–southwest for 80 km from near Palmerston North to the upper reaches of the Hutt Valley, where the northern tip of the Remutaka Range begins. This enclosure was one of a set of three, that was placed throughout the Ranges to monitor rainfall and flash flooding. The enclosure were placed in a wide range of different climates.
